I'd have to disagree.
Older usually is less complex, less to go wrong, less emission regulations. Simpler maintenance, cheaper parts and easier to fix.
Basic tools will service an older engine without the need for expensive diagnostics.
Everything tends to be more accessible.
Obviously you pay for that with the improved economy and power that you get from modern engines compared to the older more lethargic and thirsty units.
However, there comes a point where peak design has been reached for power and performance, and anything after that is an attempt to meet ever stricter emissions regulations at the expense of everything else.
Fair enough
I will continue driving my modern vehicles that warm up quickly, always work and are nice to drive
As for servicing, these days it couldn't be simpler, drop it off at the garage and return later to a fully serviced vehicle
My days of driving old, "simple" cars are well behind me, life is too short and time doing things I enjoy is at a premium, id rather not waste that time crawling under an old car
