BMW 325i

picking up a 2000 plate in black with 65,000 miles tomorrow with a blown head gasket for a winter project...never had a beemer before but this is almost a gift so all good there. Now my question is to present and past owners is "am i mad" or can a good car be salvaged from this project??

if its just the gasket yeah its a great project
although if the head gasket has gone at 65,000 the last owner must not have looked after it
because i thrash my bmw 1996 and im on 145,000

your best bet would be a engine swap to avoid any damage already cause by the old engine

apparently it blew a top hose and he had to drive it 20 mile to avoid towage charges on the Mway..head must of warped as its now not holding coolant..its my son-in-law to be so the fact he's putting his dirty sticky hands all over my little angels young body is payment enough in my books
