Does anyone know about the bluetooth car kits, I don't want some think that is going to look like a pig and be a job to use or makes talking sound like a dalek, advice would be much appricated.......
I bought my missus a unit for the car called "Visorlite" a few years back and it has been good as gold. Beauty of it is you can transfer it between cars very easily and it works very well. Only downside is the clip for the sun visor is a rather hefty bit of spring steel and can mark or squash the visor.
I have found most of the motorola ones to be quite good, but they were the in ear type and not the ones with the loudspeaker. You look a bit of a **** but they work well.

I Have a parrot ck3100lcd in my '54 l200 warrior. i did have to buy an additional wiring harness (about £13) because the warrior doesn't have the iso connection but it only took about 45mins to fit, it connects to the mute wire of the stereo.
it gives good clear phone calls with automatically muting the stereo with no echos
I have stuck it to the dash with double sided pads just next to the stereo so it blends quite well.
it does have a down side of not being able to use it other cars but i can live with the phone loud speaker for how often i'm driving the wifes car.
The parrot range of kits especially good. Friends of mine are agri contractors and have them mounted in most of the yokes and the background noise does not bother anyone on the other end (except the wife when the dinners ready)
I would be interested to hear too Snowy, I have got a Sony Erricson one, which clips on the visor. Its fine for inside a car, but not very good inside the van (more road noise).
I was looking at some proper fitted ones from Car phone warehouse which use the speakers from the stereo, looking at about £120ish though fitted.
normal practice for me also........(disclaimer this is not endorsed by MWF), seeing as Mrs has new car, and Carry's small items around these days thought Id get a kit, TBH I'm a bit peeved its not standard equipment.....
maybe IL drop into halfruds, no intention of letting one of them lose with the screwdriver to fit it.........
Brought mine from the dreaded ebay, Back in december.
was £74.99 + £6.95 p&p + £1 Insurance Total £81.94
Brought it from a Shop called bugdet car audio (shipped next day with no problems)
But check if you vehicle has the iso fitting for the stereo, if not buy the lead you need at the same time and save on p&p, unlike me who didn't and an extra £3 p&p spent
I'm pretty sure when iwas looking round Halfords where offering free fitting on these but tbh if i brought it from them i would still fit it myself
thanks phill, I was thinking halfords, simply as I was going to have a bash this weekend, over wise it will get shelfed with the thousand and one other things......
sent an email to your mate Steve today BTW, pulleys are off to him tuesday.....
Great,
You'll be happy with his work i've no doubt, i was picking his brains the other day. he's one of these guys that'll know some one or something when you stumped.

One of our cars has a Pama kit I got from Halfords. They had free fitting, but I did it myself. Originally it had a lead for my Nokia, but then I found a bluetooth adapter for it which works well. Our other car has a Wharfedale bluetooth head unit, which allows me to stream music from my phone via bluetooth. Trouble with this one is the microphone's built in, so in future, I would go for one which had a separate mic.
