blow torch what to buy

id like a reasonble quality blow torch for home diy use , most likley heating stubborn bolts or the odd bit of soldering etc

prefer a smaller/pointed flame

can anyone reccomend what to look for /avoid , middle of the range price wise and one where i can easily get gas localy etc

Rothenberger super fire 2 , thats what I use for plumbing , works fine , get refills from local plumbers merchants

I have a Rothenberger super fire 2 as well as an older non adjustable one that gives a very intense flame with mapp gas, even tho it's changed and isn't as good these days

I had a cheaper only a few quid cheaper from toolstation I had 3 of them in the same amount of weeks just buy the quality one and know it will last

them torches can be had at auto jumbles most times 24 quid. there ok but that's all I can say. they don't float my boat

I'm from Yorkshire and I only paid 20 quid each for the 3 that I bought. and I fill the disposable bottles for a quid a pop

Despite not liking the price I would agree with so many saying the same name is good. I have used so many cheap blowtorch especially with horrible flame propergation.

Another vote for Rothenberger, I have a couple most common use for one of them is lighting the wood burner. I reckon it's cheaper/easier than firelighters(if you already have the torch), newpaper and bit of kindling then blast it.
