ordered shed load of steel 3wks ago inc some box sect for job im doing for mate.

finally got him rd today to get started on it, only to find there isnt enough box to finish it were about 3.6m short.
get on phone order some more for tom.

pick kids up from school chatting to my eldest to see if hes used it and forgotten to tell me.
starts laughing so ask why?
cos you cut the long lengths when the steel arrived, so i could drill them for you one weekend you were working.
there stood in corner where you told me to put them.

book me a place in shady pines now cos im losing it.

when i was putting the foot peg brackets back on the motorbike the other day it took me three times of taking em on and off again before i put em on the right way.

When I loose summat it always turns up in the last place I was lookin for it, funny that happens every time, apart from the times when it doesnt turn up, thats because I havnt found the last place. I have a fantastic memory i can remember where everything WAS, only trouble is 'it' just it keeps movin

Surely you'd have to be a bit 'special' to keep looking for something once you'd found it? Hence, it's always the last place you look. (Common expression I know).

What narks me off is hunting forever for something knowing it'll turn up as soon as I buy a replacement. Or not being able to find something, even though I haven't moved from the spot. And when I find it, I think 'why'd I put that there???'

How often have you had a clearout & thought I'll never use that! Then next day what do you need!! Too late it's gone. I don't chuck anything now, you should see the mess in my shed. I can lose myself in there for hours, then forget what I was looking for in the first place.
Senility creeping in, send for the man in the white coat.

PS. A nice blonde would be better, if I could remember what to do!

I had a big bunch of engine stop cables for Petter diesel engines, the type with a solid wire core and in the 12 years I had them I didn't use one. Dumped them one Sunday, needed one Tuesday......

There is some sort of fate culculation involve. i.e. It doesn't matter how long you save something, you will only need it after you have binned it. This, of course,is ignoring all the stuff you binned and never needed

I have an MA in this science.

I also have a 'two year' rule. If not used in that time, it gets binned. This is critical to a clean workshop. Of course, most of my projects are made of stuff that has littered up the joint for at least 4+ yrs. You can imagine what my w/shop looks like

To edit: I have only been here eight years, so not too bad. My last place made the scrappy salivate when I had it cleared. Not the most principled of guys... he loaded the best...then dissappeared, leaving me with some genuine scrap.
