If the guy is that much of a pratt I'd drop an anonymous letter to the local planning officers with a photo of his d block paving work saying what he has had done. Those holes are there for a very good reason as you have found out. It will only cost him £100 or so to sort it , why should you suffer for his stupidity & breaking of the planning laws..I'm at the end of the street here and due to the estate builders having been close relatives of Smith and Jones the combined drain/sewer has a slight fall back to my end rather than the other way. So every once in a while the crap from further down the street (aided, no doubt, by the insoluble contributions of two females of reproductive age two doors down) causes a rise in the stench level outside my back door and I have to reach for the drain rods.
To complicate matters, one householder has block-paved over one of the few manholes in the street (prat) , so I have to use THREE sets of drain rods to uncork the porcelain... about 70 feet down the road :rolleyes:
