blasting grit??

want some shot grit to clean paint off radiator but also to clean other part that I may need to do.
what is the best stuff that isn't to harsh.
I'm considering walnut shell but there is a few grades?? so which do I need.
any info is much appreciated.this the 1st time for me.

I haven't double checked on the price for that particular bag, you may find it elsewhere but for smaller delicate items, it is ideal.

not sure what it is.bought it from aldi.

personally I wouldn't bother stripping old radiators either blasting or strong paint stripper. it takes too long and is messy

I've also used the blasting grit from machine mart, it seemed to remove material faster than the sand... Less clouds of dust as well

When collecting it to reblast, sieve it first to prevent bits blocking your gun.

I would like to replace it but been told it would only happen again.

a lot of people don't know it but when u buy a new radiator there only primed. they may look shiny but the paints porous. they should be top coated then wont go rusty u can buy an aerosol can of white radiator paint for about 8 quid and give them a coat

coated it twice but still comes through.
the only way to stop is to clean it out (rust)
grinder/wire brush doesn't get it out.

I'm not saying that's never been the case or doesn't happen but it's certainly not the norm with any respectable brand.

They even use the word paint in their literature and there's never any mention of having to be painted prior to use. Stelrad proudly claim a "run free, 2 coat, paint finish."

Rubbish paint maybe. But that's the world we live in.

Also, if you can find a source, recyled crushed glass is not going to be much more expensive, reusable, and a far better material to use.....

Re-usable a few times, breaks down easily but still cuts nicely. I used mine until it was removed by my dust extractors.
