Blast cabinet questions.

Hi guys i have a large blast cabinet however I'm having issues getting a constant flow of blast through my gun. I know I may be pushing it with the size of my comp however it does work well then nothing back to working well.
So questions would be what size comp should I be using ie cfm minimum and maybe pipe sizes etc. I have done the flow valve mod , better lights, which seems to help improve things. Any other mods I should know about

more details needed . is it a suction gun or a blast pot. what size nozzle if blast pot what size blast hose and how many cfm is the comp

Hi compressor is a hydrovane 501 which from what I can see is 10 bar 4 cfm. Cabinet is gravity fed with preasure valve modification done.

As nice of a compressor that is there is no chance it will run anything useful, media blasting wise. Far too low a CFM.

Yeh I'm getting that. I've looked at lots of comps but without knowing what cfm i actually need its hard to pick the right one

the bare minimum a 3hp 14cfm and if using a pressure pot preferably 2 coupled together to run a 3.0mm jet pressure pot continuous use . one will work if your using a suction gun

Compressors imho are a by the biggest( read highest CFM) you can afford ( and if you can afford a screw compressor all the better). But you could just buy a decent 13cfm 3 horse power thing and parralell it with the hydrovane. Then you have a hydrovane for day to day tool usage (using an air ratchet or something in short bursts) and flip on the higher one for blasting. It will still be on the low side and run flat out but should be able to be useful at least.

I have run with a 3hp 14cfm compressor not much cop really. And now i am running two compressors inline and its fairly good. I would not go any less.
For this i am running running 10m of 10mm air line to cabinet.

Yes before anybody says, it works well with the vac that connected straight the the cabinet and i will when i bother build and fit a extractor. I have done a lot thoguh and its been great. Little loss in media

Done all these parts on the front susspensin with maybe a kilo lost in the vac.
Not a great loss overall.
