Blast Cabinet Gun

I have a little blast cabinet with the suction type gun.
The suction hose is very short and restricts the movement of the gun.
I would like to make a little bracket to hold the end of the suction hose in place and replace the hose with one about twice as long.

Is there any flaw in this plan?

As long as the holes in that 'nut' can still breathe, if grit pick up decreases you will have to rethink. A more flexible hose might help, that clear stuff can get quite hard in colder weather.

I would replace that with a short length of metal pipe say 100mm with multiple holes drilled in it cliped to the bottom of the cabinet and the hose pushed onto it , pretty sure thats how my setup is and it rarely clogs

My similar one has a 2ft ish hose on it, I'm always moving it around to find the grit, but it works fine, just need more grit!

One 500mm long would solve my problems. I plan to make a little bracket to hold the inlet in the 'sump' of the cabinet.
I keep plenty of media in the sump!
Part of the problem is my shop vac pulls such a good vacuum that the gloves are rigid making it hard to manoeuvre the gun.
I may investigate increasing the air inlet size to swap pressure for flow.

Off to find a source for a short length of flexible hose.
