A while back I bought a very heavy large set of blacksmiths bending rolls, the sort used for making cart rims and the like. They are very much in as found condition and generally need a good clean and minor repairs before painting. Unfortunately the photo's that I took when I collected them have been lost so I can't show them as bought and my digital camera is on the blink so will post some photo's when a new camera is bought in the January sales. The rolls are extremely heavy so the first part of the restoration will be to make a suitable frame to build them onto. The only missing part is the handle for turning the roll which was originally a cast iron 's' shape and was broken before I got them so I will have to fashion a steel replacement. The rolls have an ingenious cam action for adjusting the distance between the driven and pressure roll and judging by the weight of everything must have been an expensive set when new (two of us could barely lift them when complete).
Hopefully photo's along soon including the new base frame.
