black plastic guttering parts question

id like to move a downpipe a couple of inches nearer the wall , does a part like this exist in black plastic guttering

Isn't that just an offset (swan neck) down pipe or is the offset very specific?

Says 22mm-80mm but I'm not totally sure what that means...I'd assume thats the vertical offset to the wall but you'd need to check and confirm.

Yes. You alter the offset by shortening the longer piece. The dimensions given will be min. centreline distance of the two pipes and max. centreline distances of the two pipes.

Standard bends are 92 degrees or 112 degrees so when you have two of those butted together, there is a minimum offset possible.

With the one pictured, the angle is more open so a smaller offset should be achievable.

Another possible option if the downpipe is fixed is to move the running outlet left or right a bit but that involves altering the guttering itself.

You can get things a bit tighter by cutting 2 45s down and solvent weld them together, lots of odd sizes out there so you really need to match up to your existing stuff

It is strange, but downpipe bends are not available in 45 (or 135) degree.

Standard is 92 or 112.5 degree. And joining two of those as close as possible will always be bigger than the one pictured.

Draw it out and you will see how 22mm offset is not possible unless you use the Hunter part.

Beware of diameters. They don’t seem to be standardised! I recently bought 114mm square(ish) section gutter and found the downpipe converters from square to round are no longer supported with round pipe from that connector! Robin’ hoods at Wickes! I will get around it but just annoyong.

You cut the strait bit and move the lower part up this alters the distance the inlet and outlet are offset

I used two 45s, cut one neatly to the required offset and glued them together. 5 years later still good.

another question....seems i could do with 3mtr of half round but no van/big car .....dont spose it would tolerate bending in half for 10 mins ?

Yeah you can bend it the full 180 and tie it together, it'll spring right back after.

That's also the best way to cut it perfectly. Mark, Bend, Tap with a sharp knife....perfect cut.

If it shows signs of distress from the bending, a blast from a hot air gun or hairdryer will allow you to massage it back to decent.

try not to bend it in half your better off in a wide loop

and dont bend it in winter its known for shattering / snaping

wide loop means down the side of the passnger seat looped around the back and back down the drivers side but you can go other way around and put it through the passenger window

Cut in half and just buy a union, gutter will be 4 meter
