Black mild steel?

Hi all, My steel supplier does a black mild steel? what is the difference in it and normal steel? I would be griding and polishing it?

Black usually means hot rolled and covered in thick mill scale, which can be a pain to mechanically remove, but an hour in hot citric will strip it off.

I buy black if it gotta be machines down a bit.....
bright I use for fancy jobs and shafting, right size and reay to go.....
black is quite a bit cheaper.....and that matters if u need a lot for one job....

Hot citric acid I drink that when I have a cold in the form of lemon juice, you mean hydrochloric acid commonly found in some grout cleaners
