Black conduit bends ?

I've previously bought galv. conduit elbows like this from Screwfix -

I now need black painted elbows so they can be welded for a project but can't find them on any web site.
Before I trawl around the local electrical factors anyone tell me if black elbows are actually available or are they just in galv.

Yes they are available but many places have stopped stocking black enamel conduit bits.

I tried to buy some black enamel conduit last week and was told it is no longer available. This was one of the national wholsalers. They did admit that some branches still had some stock, but would not ship from one end of the country to other. Try your local wholesales rather than web-sites, they may still have some in stock.

trouble is the op wanted radius bends and they only do inspection bends in black enamel

If you are welding them you will need to paint so just get what you can and paint them anyway. The idea of conduit is that it is threaded for assembly into what you want. The metal supplier I buy from seems to supply them in red oxide now.

why not just bend the pipe & use couplers, we did this as apprentices with a wood block.

depends on what size pipe he needs .the elbows are a bigger diameter than the conduit as there internaly threaded . the op hasnt said what he is using them fore of if they realy need to be threaded . he sould have lived round our way and he could have bent his own on me conduit bender

I've actually got a Hilmor bender (with dies up to 3") and a threader but sometimes it's easier to just use ready made bends.
A friend had been ringing around and as others have said it seems to being replaced with galv and plastic so might buy a small stock of black for future projects if I can find anywhere with some still on their shelves.
