The project is to install a downstairs loo in my own property (built in the 1950s), and I found these bitumen floor tiles under the existing flooring. I believe they do contain asbestos.
The tiles are approx 3mm thick, I forgot to take a photo and found one from the internet for reference.
I need to bury a waste pipe under the floor and need to dig a trench for that so disturbance is unavoidable. There is concrete under the bitumen floor tiles. The property is undergoing a total renovation so kitchen and furniture have all been removed.
Please can someone advise how much precautions I need to remove these? Is it a DIY job or should I leave it to the specialist?
