Been meaning to sort out a grumbling wheel bearing and fit new boots on the Shogun for a while, today was the day.

Off with the old.

BOC inner bearing remover

Quick polish in the lathe

Press on the new bearing

Gag hub with copper slip

Off with the old.

Caliper slider pins were a bit sticky.

Polished them in the lathe

All back together, new split pins and everything gagged in copper slip

Needed new rubber so stuck a set of four on

is that spray on copper slip any good? same as the normal / old fashioned stuff?

always resisted the spray cans thinking it would be too thin

Hopefully I won’t need to do the wheel bearings on the Shogun for a while as they’ve all been replaced now and it’s a sole destroying job. Last time it was the fronts and ended up cracking the hub knuckle before it gave up its grip n the bearing.
