Binzel Euro torches

Does anyone know whether they are any good. At £37 for a MB25 with 4 metre cable it seems like a pretty good deal but has anyone on here used one?

'Binzel' is a generic term used by all manufacturers nowadays. Is it an original, German Binzel or a generic copy??

That link don't work! but I've just checked em out. They are a 'Tbi' Binzel copy; go for it for the money (frankly I can't see how they do it for the money but give me a call in 18 months when they are no longer around!)

Just had a new torch from Weldequip. Its is loads better than the original one. The original looks like a mb25.

How much could you do an equivalent 4M torch for weldequip? I have a sealey supermig 250 which I am hoping to do bodywork/fit a roll cage using 0.6 wire. The MB25 torches are still ok for that aren't they?

That DIY welding seem very cheap, maybe they have a high turnover low profit policy.

That being said they got no page rank, so it seems hard to believe they are getting many customers without spending a fortune on Ad words or something.

Do you have a price list weldequip or a webpage, i'll probably buy from you again when I need something, possibly one of the auto helmets.

I find my mb25 to heavy for bodywork, but I use it for all my structural work.

I have a Murex 150 amp jobby that is beautifull quality but the lead is to stiff and has a tendency to take up a nasty twist. The mb25 doesn't do this.

In a production environment expect a binzel style torch to last less than a year, they're a bit light and tend to fall apart quite quickly.

I would never copy anyones design, plus they probably use PIC microcontrollers to protect it.

I'm quite confident I could produce a transformer based TIG welder with electronic HF arc ignition.

I've built many PLL units using off-shelf TTL and CMOS logic IC's, and lots of oscillators.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

Since you are all talking about my website thought I would have a say, the toruipches we sell are Parweld torches and are copys of Binzel they are good quality and we do sell a lot on our site as well as to our local customers, the reason we can sell at such a competitive price is because I buy 100 mixed at a time, also I have been in this business 25 years so I think I should be okay for more than another 18 months ( see Weldequip thread) we also have a ebay shop DIY Welding with over 750 + feedback at 100% not bad for a bloke selling dodgy torches

I would recomend people price up how much PROPER Binzel torches are. My original MB 36 (4M) lasted approximatly 40 15kg spools and only needed replacing after i cooked the swan neck. A new swan neck would have been £45 and i only paid about £75 for a whole new torch. I find that binzel tips last 10 times longer than anything else. I use Grahams machinery at Chester and I know they are very competative because of the volume they turn over. Would highly recomend them!
