thanks for the info . i fitted good quality petrol pipes with stainless brading on them .within a year the the rubber pipes were rottenthat will explain it .
Not all stainless braided hose is created equal ! The genuine stuff, as supplied by Aeroquip etc is unaffected by part alcohol blend fuels but there are now many types now supplied by random small companies that is nothing more than commercial grade rubber tubing with braiding slipped over the top.
This will be rapidly degraded by even normal petrol.
There is no substitute for the proper stuff and unfortunately it is proportionately expensive.
However, it's not necessary to use stainless braided to get a quality fuel hose, if a hose from a reputable supplier is used it will be more than upto handling motor fuels. Look for a spec that indicates resistance to super fuels, this will be the best quality.
Nothing lasts forever though, fuel and oil hoses should be examined on an annual basis.
