thanks for the info . i fitted good quality petrol pipes with stainless brading on them .within a year the the rubber pipes were rotten that will explain it .

Not all stainless braided hose is created equal ! The genuine stuff, as supplied by Aeroquip etc is unaffected by part alcohol blend fuels but there are now many types now supplied by random small companies that is nothing more than commercial grade rubber tubing with braiding slipped over the top.
This will be rapidly degraded by even normal petrol.
There is no substitute for the proper stuff and unfortunately it is proportionately expensive.
However, it's not necessary to use stainless braided to get a quality fuel hose, if a hose from a reputable supplier is used it will be more than upto handling motor fuels. Look for a spec that indicates resistance to super fuels, this will be the best quality.
Nothing lasts forever though, fuel and oil hoses should be examined on an annual basis.

Flat tanker?
I think I saw a triumph badge on it, which seems odd, but definitely a flat tanker, Singles? love em.

Not odd at all. Triumph were prolific in the flat tank era, their most famous machine of the time was the Model H, used in vast numbers in WW1. I had an SD from 1922 until about 7 years ago, sold it under financial distress and much regret it ! Was a great experience to ride, everything was controlled by fixed levers, including the throttle, no twist grip !! Gear lever on the tank and brakes of no perceptible use ! Every 10 miles or so you even had to inject a stroke of oil form a tank mounted pump !

Indeed they did, their first motorcycle was around 1902, so they produced before and after the flat tank era.

the stainless braided fuel pipes are just cosmetic and looked nice pity they were crap i im normaly clued up on cheapo products but its the 1st time ive used them and will be the last
