has anyone got any names for classic bike insurance . thanks in advance i did have bike insured a few years ago but cant remember who and it was cheap

the bikes a 1963 norton . it has a slimline fetherbead frame with a 750 comando engine . all the caffe racer mods fitted

will take a few piccies. it is dirty at the mo as its been stood a few years . but i sprayed it all over with wd 40 so it didnt corode needs washing and polishing up takes days to do itCaffe Racer.....

I had a ring around for classic bike insurance recently and Footman James came out cheapest and best. Their standard comp policy included UK and Euro breakdown cover too.
Little tip, the premium is lower if you're a member of a motorcycle owners club.

It is the James from Footman James who separated off and setup on his own. Their quote was cheaper than footman James for my classsic car. Ive heard the same for bikes.

a few pictures of the bike ive had it 35 years bought for 40 quid and spent 2grand on it . engines been rebuilt and balanced. gearbox has had new kickstart shaft fitted new sprockets and chains .stainless steel silencers and pipes stainless clip ons stainless spokes all bolts and screws stainless . the engine plates clock mounts rear brake rod and rocker covers i made 20 years ago .the rearsets i made out of dural . its good for 110mph at the mo with present gearing but im changing the front cog up a few teeth which will give it 120 mph the handling is excelent on it at speed . i will probably try and get a 3 gallon manx racing tank for it i have a manx seat . fit an alloy central oil tank and put a primary belt drive on it when the gearings sorted as the norton chaincase is one big oil leak

thanks for the info . i fitted good quality petrol pipes with stainless brading on them .within a year the the rubber pipes were rottenI bet it sounds nice with the mega's on
that will explain it .the silencers are strait through with perforated pipe and lagging with a small disk fitted it can be removed to make louder but its fine as it is

I think I saw a triumph badge on it, which seems odd, but definitely a flat tanker, clatter clatter pop bang, kind of rampant combustion. And a great handlebar moustache .

I have always wanted a go an old Brit cafe racer, I always rode singles, 250RSA, XBR, Tenere, Dominator and always wondered what a proper bike is like to ride.
At a rally they were playing who can start the Panther, and laughed at little old me. I found compression, started it first kick almost rupturing myself.
Some clever Johnny had a go next, the owner winked at the crowd and tweaked a lever. What? says I.
Boom, Johnny was chucked over the handlebars I think he advanced the ignition.
Singles? love em.
Lock up your garage. The Force has told me it is mine.

If you want cheap insurance try ebike. A mate has a Jota
insured through them, it cost £60!
I have used Footman James and Carol Nash, both were fine for the first few years then they started trying to have it off with my wallet. I will try ebike next year. CN and FJ will insure several things, i.e your landy and your classic bike all pretty good rates and give discount with a bike owners club number, makes the sub worth while.

I've used Adrian Flux for the last 6 years, first for my LR S3 started off at £98 Fully comp agreed value @ 5K. On renew it was always £200+, a quick look around and they dropped it to £48 per year. Also had a 04 Harley same deal, for £235, and that was valued at £16.5k. and now a Africa Twin £35 per year.

I bought an R1 when I was 23ish, everyone i tried quoted me at around the £500 mark 3rd party,
I already had a classic policy with footman james insuring an RD500, RD400and a 2002 DT125R costing me £220 a year all fully comp. After phoning them to see what they could offer they put the R1 on the existing policy replacing the DT125. And the premium went DOWN!!! The policy was all based on age, and as the R1 was 4 years older than the DT125 it reduced the premium by £7
