The closest I have come to a job like this is a horse box on a 7.5tonner with living quarters-that was pretty agricultural in comparison to these though! I like the idea of the 5th wheel Iveco, as a camper I guess it doesn't need testing like a +3.5 ton van, but if I got one for work/play and towed my goods around on a flatbed would I need to have the taco running and be tested every quarter?
Im always interested in ways to multi use vehicles and dislike campers because you can't really throw a ton of tools in them and put lengths of steel on the roof, and they need mot'd, taxed etc. A 5th wheeler could prove a useful conversion to any old 6.5 ton tipper or flatty. Very interesting to see how you get on-just remember to use plenty of plastic washers on any steel to alloy fixings to stop corrosion. Good luck and have fun-get a vision and run with it! (Maybe use your savings to buy a GRP front end-probably will appreciate your conversion more than it costs?)
