Big giant swords

Has anyone else seen this? it takes the BS TV shows to another level - a total A&$€ of a presenter who's utterly without talent and a selection of halfwits who follow him about licking his boots. The rubbish that they 'create' with a grinder from mild steel plate is 14 year old kid on YouTube level! Master blade smith he ain't!

Unbelievable,what a load of cods wollop,looked at 2 vids in the first one she the iron fighter says a blacksmith pounds the hammer from the shoulder,in this one she cant even lift the damn hammer

And wtf has he got around his neck?
Still it gave me 2+mins of a laugh

He has his own YouTube channel where he does build videos of his big giant swords. I suspect a TV series was made more dramatic etc etc etc to make it more tv'able.

Michael Cthulhu is his YouTube channel. As an artist I actually quite enjoy watching some of his work, fair enough he does some things a bit arris about face but he turns out some good looking gear. And yes, the show looks like it's been over egged for the sake of television. He's a bit out there but what artist isnt. Fair enough if they're marketing them as actual worked swords, his YouTube channel seems to point more at being built under commision for decoration

I thought his face mask looked a bit plonkerish but when I watch it a bit more I could see what he was doing with it - if you're going to bring air in through a filter it's probably cleaner behind you.

Yeah it wouldn't be my first choice to go to for a dust mask, although it is actually a commercially available product!!

The episode I watched he made a lighting sword out of mild, hooked it up to an arc welder and demonstrated it in the dark blowing lumps out of the blade, strangely the sword wasn't shown after that - I suspect that the person who bought it would have been delighted with a blade that looked like the one on my old mower after its been over a few mole hills.

Haven't seen that one, generally his videos finish with him battering a watermelon or similar. It's interesting seeing his way of working sometimes, and to be fair there's a fair bit of skill in carving something into a chunk of steel with an angle grinder, and having the vision to design it. Also most of his gear seems to be made from hardox plate

He's interesting enough for a once every now and again watch. Obviously if you're expecting to watch a top notch blacksmith or metal worker you're in the wrong area

It's the usual TV nonsense, instead of making a programme with a skilled person making something they find a stupidly dressed clown who's acts up for the camera.

They should have gone to Owen Bush, he would show this so called sword maker how it should be done properly. Owen has been on BBC4 and on radio and is the genuine article.
