Do you make it, then chuck it outside to go rusty? Or is there a better way of achieving the finish?

This one I did "just chuck" outside for a while. Sprayed it with plain water every so often given how dry it's been.
You can add salt, vinegar and peroxide to the mix if you are in a hurry.
