I picked up an old hub dyno in a 26" mtb wheel (odd combo, but I was glad to find it) with the idea of permanently powered lights and no battery worries. I'm absolutely sure a suitable LED setup matched to the output of the dynohub would be adequate.These are still available

Au contraire. At least with Gloucestershire, it is policy. It is also very annoying, having had four cyclists collide with me on the footpath outside my shop door. I like cycling, but I dislike many cyclists' behaviour.Its an unofficial policy and they label it as discretion. It cannot be official as it opens the police up to claims of not dealing with criminal offences.
