Hello,
Unsure if the following is fixable so any advice gratefully received... I got a bike headset powder coated to match the other components on the bike. Looks good, but the request not to powder coat the part of the press cup which gets inserted into the bike head tube got lost in translation.
It needs to be 30.0mm (+0.1mm max tolerance), but is now 30.2mm with the powder coat. Is there any way to get it back to 30.0mm? e.g. in a lathe.
I don't have a lathe or any machining skills, so if it's possible I'd need to pay someone to do it. The alternative is to buy another headset (£20) and get the powder coat redone properly (£20).
All the best, Richard
