What I don't understand is why more people aren't being jailed for this.
Most of the things being bought on the ripped off cards are physical items that have to
be delivered somewhere. Surely it's not beyond the wit of the police to track these down
and arrest whoever's responsible.
One post in the thread on moneysaving expert said about Easyjet tickets being bought.
You'd think this would be the easiest crime to solve as they know where and when the
crims will be.
This happened to me a few months ago, there was about £1,200 put on my credit card.
I was worried about getting the money back but the girl on the phone was pretty
relaxed about the whole thing. I just had to send a list of the transactions I thought were
false and I got them all refunded. A lot of the stuff bought were electronic goods, she
assured me at the time their fraud department would try to track them down but you
never hear of anyone being done for this.
