Come to the UK we still have them if you know where to look!I'm still looking for a "MOT tester" or "Inspection station" as we call it....that has a seeing eye dog.....
As of last year in France, any rust is a fail, any original part missing is a fail, anything which doesn't work is a fail, yeah great, buy a new car, but I can't afford one, and I like keeping old vehicles running, not having a go at you @Erie Fred , but its got stupid over here recently, they just want old cars off the roads.I'm still looking for a "MOT tester" or "Inspection station" as we call it....that has a seeing eye dog.....

My brother who lives in the U.K. said the other day a car with an MOT is worth nothing, as you can buy a blank MOT certificate, cheaper than passing a MOT.Come to the UK we still have them if you know where to look!

Don't know whether this is true though.
I had a Simca 1100 2 door. I removed all the panels and Waxoyled it all when I bought it off my company. I drove it for years then laid it up. I advertised it for £100 and someone came down from Scotland for it.is there actualy any simcas still running over there they were a right crock o sh/yte
That would not surprise me.Pointless having a certificate if it's not logged on the system, your brother is talking BS.

He was a Simca enthusiast. DVLA contacted me to ask if I had any objections to it being exported. Can’t think why I would object. It’s still registered and taxed in this country.
They were quite a versatile car but you could never quieten the tappets due to the canted over engine which starved the rockers.

Bottle of Pastis in certain garages over here, or Ricard. That's rubbish. Everyone knows a bent mot is an extra 30 quid in the ash tray
They're just laser printed on plain paper. Gone are the days when they were hand written on an official cert. Unless it's registered on the DVLA system it's not worth the paper it's printed on.My brother who lives in the U.K. said the other day a car with an MOT is worth nothing, as you can buy a blank MOT certificate, cheaper than passing a MOT.
