Beware of scam courier being used on ebay

Beware of this scam courier called AQUILINE being used on eBay.

It appears that this fake courier is working alongside some fake ebay seller(s)

The genuine buyer makes a purchase and in a very short time the seller puts up the tracking information showing that the item has been delivered.

Ebay reps obviously believe that the tracking delivery details are genuine, and close your case when challenged.

When you intend buying, make sure you ask the seller who the courier is.

Aquiline is not a carrier.

It's a tracking number provider.

Odds are, the seller you used is just drop-shipping from amazon.
The ebay system blocks sellers from trying to put in amazon delivery tracking numbers Aquiline is a system those sellers can use to convert the amazon tracking to one ebay recognises.

There are issues with it. Mainly it shows items are delivered almost instantly after the amazon 'order processed ' email arrives.

If it's been marked as delivered a lot quicker that you would expect its probably not actually a scam and you'll get an amazon delivery with the item you ordered in the next few days

I've had a few of these over this year,buy from evilbay and its come from amazon,i go back to amazon to check price etc and find the ebay price is cheaper,how the flip does thatt work out

Not all of the sellers are just drop-shipping from amazon.

Amazon offer a 'fulfillment' service,
The seller gets amazon to hold and post stock for them.

So, although amazon send it to you, it might actually be the sellers own stock they send.

You also get the ebay sellers that have an amazon prime account and the ones that buy amazon vouchers at less than face value and use those.

So, yes, sometimes it's cheaper (and you get quicker delivery) to buy amazon items via ebay.

If I buy something on ebay at a price I am happy with and it arrives within the timeframe id expect then I'd have no problem if it arrives in amazon packaging (or anywhere else for that matter)

Much the same as ordering something from Zoro or Cromwell. About 1/2 the stuff I order from them is showing as 'in stock' but actually gets sent to me from somewhere else!

I had a lengthy conversation with ebay,and their 'Trust & safety' department are investigating Aquiline and it is ongoing.

As for ebay parcels arriving in Amazon packages everything has been OK in every aspect. I've had a few but It must have been 2023 since any came.

A long time ago I had a client who was a major ebay seller. He got scammed a lot. He told me that obtaining a crime reference number was enough to get the PayPal cases overturned into his favour. Paypal is no longer standard on eBay but I would guess that the way cases are worked is still similar.

eBay is risky because your best consumer rights are forfeit when you use a market place and the payment doesn't go direct to the seller. You're relying on eBays self proclaimed protection. I avoid eBay, especially now that Amazon has most things. Some Amazon sales still bypass consumer rights but Amazon is a more customer focussed company than eBay so you usually get better outcomes in a dispute.

In my experience ebay and paypal buyer protection have always worked well for me when buying items. Not so much when I'm selling items but it's mostly buying. Never had a single issue on getting an easy refund on purchases of something goes wrong.

On the flip side, I once had a no tracking information provided on a CTEK ebay charger order. The seller claimed it was dispatched when I queried it but could not provide valid tracking no. So I got a refund then the next day an amazon parcel turned up. WTF I ordered from ebay..... Turns out they were drop shippers and that's why they didn't want to show me the tracking ref but the item was posted and turned up next day. It was also about £30 cheaper on amazon so easy money for them had it worked out the way they planned.

What did I do in that case? Kept it as I could only assume it was an amazon order someone had sent me Serves them right.

I'm an Amazon addict because of the fast delivery and ease of use. Last month I booked some time off work to get on with my buggy only to find the evening before that I didn't have some of the materials I needed. I clicked using Prime and the items arrived the next morning letting me get on with my project. Same goes for groceries, I can be disorganised, let them run out, click, and they arrive the same day. Recently more and more sellers are getting onto Amazon and on board with Prime so more and more is available and the prices are improving.

Amazon is the only way to get most things nowadays. Except over Xmas the delivery dates were erratic.
Obscure Things such as a fuse for my fuser unit in my OKI laser printer are only available on ebay as they are shipped from China.
Not a lot I buy is even available in local shops now.

And that's one of the major drawbacks of Amazon.

When all the local shops are gone there'll be nowhere to go to "try before you buy" or go to pick someone's brains, both of which, in my opinion, aren't possible with the likes of Amazon. I'm doing a lot of woodworking these days and I can buy anything I want or need and have it delivered next day but I don't. I'd rather spend the extra money in fuel and drive to my nearest woodworking supply shop an hour away at Penrith for the simple reason that you either use it or lose it.

Similarly we have a filling station near us, just outside Bishop Auckland at Etherley, and he's apparently the cheapest fuel in the Northeast. I get my diesel from another garage that charge a few pence more a litre but I also take our vehicles to them for test and they do their best to look after me so it's in my interests to keep them open.

I appreciate that we live in a 24/7 society now but there's a lot to be said for keeping it local.

I recently went to one of the few remaining alternator shops. The only thing he could offer me was an unbranded low quality poor fit replacement. Autodoc had a Hella for the same price. What do you do?

So, although amazon send it to you, it might actually be the sellers own stock they send.

Stock from different sellers is combined at the warehouse locations so you can get non-genuine products with the correct barcode when ordering genuine, I got non-genuine vax vacuum cleaner filters instead of genuine even though I ordered through the Vax amazon store front.

Is anyone able to explain in a concise way what the benefits are of using Prime? When I first heard of Prime, I just assumed it was a faster way for items to arrive for a bit more money.
