Well i spent the first reasonable morning for ages overhauling an elderly neighbours brakes,he has a Skods felicia 1.3 that has covered 16000 miles in 12 years,this thing is absolutley mint condition and the brake pads i took off had degraded with age,they were the original Factory fit ones! so it was more of a safety check really.

He was going to trade the car in against a new fiat panda or similar as the dealer offered the basic scrappage fee but i talked him out of it

I think he is saving it for his grandaughter.

Whats everyone else been upto?

Ive been out on the bike, it's cold but dry and I have had some slippery fun scrubbing in the new tyres

Morning walkies and frisbee play session with the dogs out in the mountainside sunshine......some housework, load of laundry, washed, leathered and vacuumed the car, chopped some firewood, MIG-tacked another metal saw-horse together and generally cleaned and brushed up the workshop.
.....later, it`ll be Chicken-Tikka, Naan and Basmati rice for supper.

Been gardening in jeans & T shirt , made a girt big bonfire ,sowed loads of pots of seeds. Got a bit of sun tan

I stripped a Freecycle microwave for the table motor 5 rpm approx to make a fishing rod rotator ready for me refurbishing a couple of decent old rods.

I discovered the ferrite ring magnets on the magnetron are are way more grabby than I expected, they nearly took a bit of skin when they went clang together . Which proves the old adage of " Never put your finger where you wouldnt put your ???? "

The magnets are now stuck on my drill press top and make a fantastic chuck key retainer .

I'm thinking of making a vacuum seed sucker to pick up individuals seeds and drop them where they are wanted using the cooling fan in a closed box as the low pressure source.

12 laddies all morning, great view across the Forth with it being a nice sunny day. 1pm>2pm finished last of my quota of risk assessments to complete, 2.15> 3.45 same group for theory.

4pm left for home, called the Samaritans for a wee blether, feel better now

Fabricating balustrades all day, me and another lad. Steady away. Lots of phone calls, mithers etc. Nice and sunny though - helps the disposition.
