I used an old stick arc welder some time ago to build a pushbike. The first time it fell apart because it was only held together by the slag - at the second attempt it worked. I now want to make another. Is gasless MIG much better/easier than stick? and is gas that much better again? I'm thinking of spending just over £200 for a gas/gasless outfit but if anyone can recommend a better cheaper option for (mainly) bicycle tube I'd be grateful.
