Sacked work off this afternoon to do some theraputic spannering on the Disco. The ABS sensor has been triggering the three amigos, and ive been getting around to it for ages. Also the axle oil seal was weeping and the front discs were farked.
It looks like it was still on the original sensor so its not done too bad.
It was all going well till I tried fitting the new oil seal, pushed it in with a large (not large enough) socket which split the new seal. On the plus side I spotted it before reassembly
Also Id put a bit of oil on it to ease it in which led to it keep popping out. So
Do i fit the new one dry ?
Best way to push it in ? Im thinking to use the new oil seal and a piece of wood to push it in or do i get it somewhere close and tap round the perimeter with a long socket drive bar ?
