An old tungsten is what I usually use too. I've got a mechanical pencil style carbide scriber but I never use it, it's easier to just grab a tungsten.3.2mm tig tungsten's make good scribers. They don't loose their hardness however they are somewhat brittle.
I've got a carbide scriber somewhere does an alright job.
I used to use the Makel silver streak pencils but nowadays the leads just go loose for fun.
Apparently their mechanical pencil is better.
I do have a pica pencil, and they do sell a soft white lead for marking metal.
