I steam cleaned the tank (drained, degassed etc) to get a good look at a weep/leak that had developed. It's not holed, but as you can (hopefully) see from the pictures corrosion has formed in the seam and started to open it. I checked it and that's where the leak is.
I could just slap a bead along the outer edge, grind it back to the original seam weld and then slap a bead along the edge, try to cut off just one layer and then weld the newly formed edge to the original layer.
Non welding options would come down to rust converter then seam sealer and paint.
Anyone have any other suggestions or input on the best approach?
It's off of a Mitsubishi Fuso BTW. The tank metal seems reasonable, but apparently their idea of painting and rust protection was the merest skim single coat of black chassis paint.
