Have you got 3 phase?
£2k is a hard budget, your above Chinese stuff, but on the lower end of the power scale of European made machines.
£2400 you may be able to work on a Lorch T220.
I mean for 400A at that price Rtech, Parweld, Stealth, perhaps Jasic are your only options. Thanks
Yes I have 3 phase, I only have knowledge lower end Chinese stuff.
I have an option to get a 400amp Rtech, but not sure if I need to be looking elsewhere.
.....
Brand new, you're looking at budget 3phase - SWP Stealth digi-tig 320, could get a brand new setup inc water cooler etc inside your budget, @Hood has one of these and seems to get on well with it. ....
It seems to be a decent enough machine and inside it looks to be well made and well put together.
The fan is loud which mostly doesn't bother me but on occasions it does.
The way of adjusting settings is good but I did prefer the Parweld XTT200P I had previously.
It is every bit as good on the arc as the Parweld was so can't fault it that way.
I had a davit to make for a boat and the skipper wanted it tig welded rather than mig so the XTT was not man enough. The davit was 12mm plate to 3 1/2" x 1/4" wall tube so I was needing 300Amp plus.should we ask what happened to the parweld..?
must have taken some abuse with the work you do? I’m assuming you’ve a water cooler set-up and all the other necessary gubbins.
.........
Only thing I dislike is it's a bit if a lump if ha r too move. Stationary weld station would be perfect.
...
of course, to paraphrase an old saying... “behind every fun welding job is a man who’s sick of it..” haha!
That is because you are probably capable of fixing them if they breakI'd buy a used Hitachi 300GP2 if I had 3 phase for £850-1000 and pocket the change... They're excellent machines
