I Use nr 211 and 232. 232 is great for heavy stuff, terrible if you've got light plate or gaps.
211 is nice for general purpose and light stuff but a lot slower. Better appearance also on the 211
The Lincoln NR 211 MP is classified by AWS as E71T-11, means that you can weld also Galvanized steel without problems. I am using similar wires (AWS E71T-11) from Hyundai & INE, both on mild steel & Galv steels with very good results and with very low spatter on Galv steels.
@bR39Da: Is the ESAB Coreshield 8 available in smaller packages (200mm spools) & smaller diameters like 0.8mm or 1.0 mm ?
You are right, AWS coding itself does not give any information about the materials that can be used. More detailed information about composition of the wire, materials that can be used etc are included in other AWS documents like THIS
