I have an electric DA and I had an air DA and body sander.
I now would use electric one for small panel repairs, but I think it is all down to what you can afford and what you are happier with.
But for both get a belt cleaner. It extends the life of the belt and can be used on all abrasives belts and discs.
Here is a link.

I know my local body shop sells them a bit cheaper.

I would, if I hadn't sold mine.

Are you ginger?
Strange thing to ask@123hotchef
Are you ginger?
You post some strange stuff
Can't argue with that, can't think who you are refaring to though@the snooper
At least I post pictures and links to back up what I say and post.
should have went for the sealy mate, they are great for roughing down glass and filler and with a 320 you can prep surfaces with them too.
all our finishing is blocked by hand.
A few places i have seen are now going over the the low volt electric da'sFor me it's not about the power usage, an air DA is a much smaller nicer to handle unit. If electric was better then body shops would use them but they don't.
