Best remedie for frozen car locks???

You'd think manufacturers would have come up with something to combat this by now wouldn't you.

All graphite does is make the key smoother to glide into the lock because its been shown by locksmiths doing this when newly made keys being a bit stubborn in entering the lock barrel,so they rub graphite on it a few times till it beds in.

Yes, it's a lubricant because a lock has metal sliding on metal which needs lubrication to keep it smooth. Most locks will freeze due to rain or car washes which will freeze overnight. Once you've eliminated this moisture in the lock, graphite to a certain extent will prohibit a buildup of moisture from the surrounding air. It WON'T prevent a lock freezing again due to water from the car wash! Nothing will.

i have an Eberspacher thats on a timer and fires up at 5.30,when i get in at 6.30 it's so hot i have to open the window....

i stick hot, not boiling water over the screen door seals and dont worry about the lock as it remote central locking. Before everyone starts, My dad has done the hot water trick for 40+ years never had any issues even when he lived in st petersburg!

Never spent a penny on 'de-icer' always used warm water, it only needs to be warmer than the ice, been doing it for donkeys yrs and NEVER cracked a screen yet.
The ones that do are those that pour 'boiling water' out of the kettle over their cars, the secret is to get car started first, pour the water over the screen and get the wipers going quick then whilst your fiddling about with all the other bits the screen will be dry and clear.
