Hi guys,
I have a friend who's gonna paint his water cooled motorcycle engine. It's a Honda CBF 500 that looks like it hasn't been cleaned for 12 years so all the engine paint has fallen off!
I've used Metallic silver VHT rattle spray tins in the past and find it awful stuff to get a nice finish on. Light coats give a very rough finish and my normal thickness coat I get something weird going on, the paint itself doesn't run but the metallic particles in the paint kinda separate and run within the paint film.
For alloy wheels and just general bits and bobs I usually recommend upol primers and halfords standard colours + lacquer. I've seen halfords sell an engine enamel and enamel lacquer but have never used them.
Anybody any experience with the halfords enamel stuff? Or does anybody have any recommendations for what he should be using?
Thanks
