Best price on lathe faceplates

I need to get hold of 8 faceplates, around 8" in Dia. The best price so far is 35quid each. preferably threaded for Myford centre

AFAIK choices are 7" (£30 inc the dreaded) or 9" (£35ish)

On the contrary dear boy, I've been looking for the last 2 weeks on and off. Just thought I'd ask here.

Like I say RDG Tools have 9" @ £35, Im going to call them tomorrow and see if I can get amy more off that.

Bloody typical, I slave away all day long in my tin shed, making brake pads out of cheese, and old tyres, and when I come up with a good idea, I saw somewhere else a Brit comes along and copies it

Very true. If you need 8 of 'em right now i doubt you'll do any better than your current plan. If you were just after one...

In finest interweb forum tradition... not what you asked about but as long as it doesn't HAVE to be myford or more than 7" diameter...

Thanks for the link HR, I was wanting to use a type Myford threaded Faceplate so you could take the FP off and replace it with a myford threaded chuck

You could screw a myford backplate to the arceuro faceplate, then you would have both.

1" x 8tpi, as found on most wood lathes, thus opening up that section of workholding and clamping. You could probably even find a adaptor between that and the metal lathe chuck mount of your choice (or sell them as extras!).

Depends on whats appropriate for what else you have in mind for it. And how you'll keep its precision and trueness if the second job demands metal lathe tolerances after its been bashed a few times and had welding heat on it...

Thanks. I had thought of A wood turning faceplate, however they don't have tee slots like metal faceplate's, so you would struggle holding some items down.
