best place for small orders

when I need to buy a specific material in a small amount, such as phosphor bronze or titaniuim to be machined on the lathe, where is the best place to get short lengths of around 100mm and dia approx. 30mm.

I only use these materials occasionally, and titanium is only really used on my own jobs so I want to find the cheapest place possible.

at the moment im using ebay but sometimes I end up having to pay well over the odds for delivery

Have a look for a local Non-ferrous scrap metal merchant, was going to post a link to mine but it seems they've closed due to the owners retiring shame really, I was in there just before xmas.

the only guy I know that deals with non ferrous is a little self employed black smith (that I get all my box section from), he does a bit of scrap dealing here and there but ive never know him to have titanium, and very rare to have anything other than brass of cast alu really. I have used metals4u.co.uk but they have 12 quid postage for orders under 75. I get all my acetal and nylon from ebay but the guy selling that has stopped selling brass now so need to source that too

i use 'durbin' near bristol as i'm too far i always have to pay £10 delivery though.
