trawl through these posts and form your opinionLooking for recommendation for floor paint for a bare concrete floor now I have my workshop built I need to find a tough paint to protect the concrete from spills ie:automotive fluids and also cut down on dust it's about 35M2 anyone got any recommendations

Another vote for tiling, especially when some of the clearance offers are on at the big tile shops.
My dad did his garage floor 5 or so years ago, it looked great for about 2 or 3 years before starting to flake off, now it looks awful....
I think it works best on a newish and clean floor - anything else and it wont stick well even after putting loads of effort into degreasing and cleaning.

Used the Polyurethane paint from e-bay and TBH wasn't that impressed. Its ok for keeping dust down but not hard enough for real use, if you are dragging trolley jacks across or using axle stands etc it just scratches and flakes.
Would probably either tile or use an epoxy paint next time.

I tiled my floor about 9 years ago with tiles from B&Q, and its great, easy to sweep up & no dust, a quick mop over and its like new again, I just used cheap ordinary tiles that were £8 per 9 tiles (1 sq metre) Its important to spread the adhesieve over every part of the tile, no voids otherwise they will crack.
I use jacks and jack stands direct onto them without any problems at all.
The only 2 downsides to tiles is MIG splatter will mark them, not a problem for me as i mostly TIG these days, If i do have to use the MIG i just put a board under where i'm migging.
The other downside is if you don't wipe your feet when its raining outside they are slippery.

I've just tiled the back lobby and utility room, with tiles from Wickes, looked almost identical to the ones in our kitchen. The slightest bit of water on them and they are damn right dangerous. I'm almost tempted to complain to them, as they really are not fit for purpose.
I used to have sintered lino in the last workshop, now that was good stuff.
The new workshop floor was power floated so is as hard as rock, and doesn't dust. So it's staying that way
Polyurethane'd mine 4-5 years ago, it's been fine, no bother with jacks and stands, no flaking or anything like that. Rebuilt 2 cars in there, third due in, and paint stands are always getting hauled about. Well impressed for 30 quid. The garage was put together in the early 80s, but the concrete was reasonably clean.

The 2 pack is good make sure you follow the instructions clean & prime, lots of air when using or the headache will be a thing to remember

I can tell you a company i wouldn't reccomend!!!! Regal Floor Paints!!! My garage floor was painted with polyurathene for about six years after it was built which after a lot of use began to flake and lift so i decided to use two pack epoxy. After hiring a floor grinder and totally taking floor back to clean concrete i decided to go for their two pack floor paint, bought their primer which i applied first, then three coats of epoxy and allowed to dry for a week.
Guess what, first time i stood a car on it it left tyre marks and anywhere there is water dripped from the car it has turned white (from tile red) this is not all over the floor but water seems to be the problem, left a bucket standing overnight and the outline of the bucket base can be seen!!!
After e mailing Regal FLoor Paints about the problem and sending pictures they haven't even had the common decency to reply and offer any advice as to why this should have happened?
Thats my experience for what it's worth, maybe a name to remember, Regal Floor Paints!!
