Been welding for years ,not very well though lol but I have a bit more spare cash now. So the question is what's the best , ill be welding at home so no fancy 3 phase etc....would you say the R Tec?
That's about the size of it?What's your budget?
Look for a local supplier who does Adams Gas, SGS, or Hobby weld rent free cylinders unless you will be using more than about 4 cylinders a year, at which point BOC or Energas starts to work out cheaper even with the monthly rental cost.£700 id say , where's the best place to get a bottle and reg im based in the midlands .bottle won't be to big as I have to haul it about and im getting no younger now. Did thinknof the r tec
Regarding the gas bottle...I'd agree with Jelly^^^£700 id say , where's the best place to get a bottle and reg im based in the midlands .bottle won't be to big as I have to haul it about and im getting no younger now. Did thinknof the r tec

Regulator wise I always buy from Noz-alls, as they sell regs of a decent quality at a reasonable price. Side-Entry or Top-Entry.
If you're lugging stuff about I would highly recommend getting a set of quick disconnects for your gas too. Female to G⅜ on the regulator, and a Male to 6.3mm hosetail, and an o-clip for the welder hose
You can later buy a set to make up extension hoses too, so you can work further away from the bottle if needs be.
Your never to old, the brain tells you so, it's the body that the problem.......Wow thanks for all that advice really appreciate this , ill take a look and absorb the info, just woke and didn't go to bed till 4.30am...bloody to old for this
