as an aside, and i know this is not connected,

the Italians bombed one of they're own warships in ww2, by accident. So to stop that from happening they painted this on theyre ships, giant chevrons

When the italians surrendered the Germans used the first radio guided missile (fritz X), to hit the battleship Roma, which was, by then, a perfect target.
just read that the other day, thought it was nuts.

I've always thought putting the life rafts on the guns would be a bad idea, if the ship was on fire you'd want them as close to the edge as possible not atop ammunition banks. Funnily enough I was watching a 1/700 build of this ship on YouTube last night. Wondered about the stripes, here is the answer. Funny old world!

I'm half obsessed with chevrons. Anyway, I painted the table, which is no longer going to be a cnc table, its now going to get a 6mm top surface and im going to use it to build other stuff, like bigger cnc's.

I painted it blue first but felt no affinity towards it so decided to get a retro green. Thats not really what I enbded up with though. I went to buy hammerite zingy lime, as it looked close, but when I opened the can it was neon yellow. I had to go back and get them to alter the colour and this is what I ended up with.
