Best gasless wire

Hello,

Which is the best gasless wire, and where can I get it?

I have been buying the SIP 0.8mm stuff from Halfords but this is expensive, and intermittent in terms of quality.

Anyone got any knowledge of a better wire?

Bite the bullet, rent a gas bottle and buy proper wire......sorry, gasless is......

In a few months I'll hopefully be doing exactly that. Unfortunately, in the meantime I'm working outside so will have to stick with the gasless for a bit longer.

you want Lincoln Innershield NR211MP, the mother of gasless wire. Im biased but Im right.

Hi All!

When it comes to using 'Gasless' MIG wire, then TechnicAl is correct, the Lincoln NR series of wires are the best ( I prefer NR 232!), but are they available in 0.8mm? and are they suitable for the average Hobbyist machine?

yes and yes

Innershield NR211MP is avilable in 0.030" and 0.035" on 1lb spools (in proper numbers thats 0.7 and 0.9mm on 0.5Kg spools) and the 0.035 is also on 10lb spools (5kg ish) which is the most popular.

Where can I get the Innershield? And would my hobby Clarke be able to cope with the 10lb spool? I'm guessing it's more economical to buy the larger size?

A bit expensive; keep it for gasless C&G work and thin panels. Enjoy!

I only ever use 5kg reels of gas type wire on my 100en
