best flap discs

hi, what in your opinion are the longest lasting /value for money flap discs .
i have been using klingspor ones but wondered if you guys knew of any cheaper ones ,and where to order them from .

i use blackspur ones...purely becasue they are dirt cheap at my local 'sell a bit of everything' shop and have never really noticed that they dont last long...how long do the klingspor ones last?

I've been using Dronco aluminium gaza oxide flap dics, £1.25 +vat apiece for 115mm 80 grit from fastco in Crewe.
I find the oxide ones better than zirconium on mild steel and their cheaper!

Best flap discs I've ever used are the PFERD Polifan curves. They've got rounded corners with abrasive over them so you can get into weld seams with them easily. They cost an arm and a leg though. I had a few samples from a company once so whenever any of the lads come by my shed to take some stuff if my hands I usually give them one or two.
I think dale had my last one a little while back :P

Best value though is the Abracs ceramic flap discs, you'll find them for £1.50 + vat each usually if bought in 10s. They're good stock removal and last a fairly long time too.

We have a few boxes of these in the stores. Something like 4 quid a disc, but when there isn't any other disc to do what you need, then they are the ones. They do two different thicknesses iirc

Yeah they do 5mm and 8mm. I quite enjoyed using them but I'm not going to be shelling out that much for them.
