best all terrain tyres

Beartown tyres have always been decent for me for 4x4 tyres.

Personally I’ve never had an issue with insa turbos, even the special tracks wore pretty well on the road.

Best tyres I ever ran were bronco grizzly claws, phenomenal on wet slate in the lakes, but on the road there would be an occasional thud as a tread block came off!

@BrokenBiker - are these tyres for your yet to be bought Suzuki?

they will be tyres for a yet to bought whatever i buy...im having enough drama trying to buy this suzuki that im on the verge of knocking it on the head, meant to be viewing it at 12 today and now he has sent me a message to say whicle its been in storage the battery has drained and now he cant start it...apparently tried jumping it and it wont do anything...so thats not looking hopefull and time is really running short on getitng something as im away next week and the jag is throwing new faults every day...driving home last night i had no tacho, no fuel gauge, no side lights (but normal lights worked fine) and ABS lights, DSC warning, gearbox warning and a misfire between 1750-2000rpm that was so predictable i could make it do it just for fun...

im away with work all week now and supposed to be taking the kids on a halloween themed day out saturday so could do without the fuss at the moment

i found the dakars to be very unpredictable on wet roads

Can’t say as I had any issues on the disco with them. I’ve also tried the traction tracks, and special tracks. Special tracks weren’t great on tarmac but as long as you drive like you’ve got big knobblies on, and not super sticky track tyres, you’ll be fine. Currently trying to decide on whether to drop on a set of Michelin xml LAV tyres for the impending volvo

I didn't, dakars on a tray backed discovery had very good Road manners. I mean there was no weight over the back wheels so it was fun on wet roundabouts, but that was to be expected.

I'd have my General Grabber AT3 M+S again - although they might outlive me at this rate.
The fitter said they would last me 50,000 miles; they're already 5 yrs old and 25,000 miles, and still over 10mm tread on them.
Great on the road wet or dry, but the only offroading I've done has been grass verges and gravel - not tried mud or snow yet

I had them on a terracan with 2hi, wet roundabouts were twitchy with any driving style but I lent it to a mate and he ended up facing the wrong way...he drove it in 4hi after that til he brought it back and said it was fine but in 2hi you really had to drive it in the wet...

Don't get me wrong, when you wanted it sideways, it would do it with ease...4 speed auto and I could throw it around like at will, but it gets tedious when you have to actively try and keep it civilised...I suppose having a quick locking LSD didn't help though
