Bespoke castings

Does anyone here (preferably localish) get involved with castings, either iron or aluminium...I was asked briefly about a restoration project for a finger post with broken arms in our village. Arms are probably about 6" x 3' and lettering both sides.
Supplying a wooden pattern shouldn't be an issue.
Any rough ideas of costs?

Don't forget shrinkage if you are supplying the pattern.

ok as long as you have some casting boxes over a meter long

I'd cast each arm seperately with a crenellated cylinder on the end.
Slot each arm over the central post, set the direction using the crenellations.
Secure with a cap.

Easier to replace arms if they get broke again, or if it needs changimg

Used to be a firm at Burnley Not sure about nowadays but you never know.
I should Google a bit I bet there is one and with couriers you can always send a template and receive your new casting.

The chap I use does all the council signs around Bristol these days I believe. They’re all ally rather than iron these days. He’s got plenty of patterns with the correct core prints for them.

Yes that's it olly , Barr and grosvenor , unfourtunatly I lost touch with my brother in law , top fella tho was an inspiration in my teenage years .
