Hi folks,
I was lucky (?) enough to get a Startrite horizontal band saw at an online auction and after getting it delivered it's clear that something is out of alignment.
As you look at the saw, the right hand blade guide is in the wrong place, pulling the blade into the machine, cutting into the vise base and producing an angled cut.
View media item 11049I've placed a bar in the blade guide mount and it's clear how far it is from being aligned with the other side.
View media item 11052As far as I can tell I've got two options. Cut into the frame and weld it back up after aligning it with the bar;
Or, take off the blade guide mount and add in some adjustment by enlarging the holes.
View media item 11050Can anyone offer advice as to which the better option? I'd rather go best than easiest, or can any of you suggest something that I wasn't smart enough to spot?
Thanks.
