When I got mine a couple of years back they were going for about 40 quid.
Some kind soul gve me his, he even paid carriage. What a star.
I was shocked when it arrived, in a photograph they all look the same, these hthings are huge. if you put it up for sale have something in the picture to give a sense of scale.

a mint 6inch vice 15 quidThey generally fetch £10 - £15 at local auctions.
You'd be better off selling it privately though

its no good to me.
was only askin as im looking for a man vice but the numbers on these record dont make sense to me.
i wanted to know what type it was as i want a 6" jaw with quick release lever.
ive got a little pewny sissy vice for small stuff but im making a vice stand.

Mine is a 25, cant remember the size of the jaws, dont think it matters to much at this size, they are monsters.
Quick release is a great facility, could not see the point of it at first, like having three arms.
On thing to watch, drop the adjusting arm thingy and catch you thumb, it bloody hurts. I did this on my Grandpa's vice in his shed, they heard me screaming from 100 yards away, I was about 8.

years ago, when pop bottles had screw in sort of ebonite stoppers with a thick rubber sealing band, every body then used one of these rubber bands on each end of the vise handle to stop nipping yourself as Chunko mentioned above.Don't know if folks still do it but they are still on my 6" Record to this day,

That is a sound idea, I will see what junk I have lying around the workshop.
Every kid tht comes in has to fiddle with the damn thing, just like I did. When I do open days I cable tie it to the leg of the stand.
Oh and hats off the guy responsible for little lip visible on the back side of the vice, great for losing tools on.
