I can see no benifits to the stand over using it by hand as intended tbh.got a titan thicknesser .
I just want something a bit more compact just in case I need to use it.
I hardly use the titan thicko now.

Without a fence and a large shoe it's probably gonna be harder than handheld to keep true
But he's got a planer thicknesser so what's the point.make an adjustable shoe and fence for it
what the point? the point is I'm looking for something smaller. But he's got a planer thicknesser so what's the point.
The point is anything small enough to use on it might as well be done handheld.what the point? the point is I'm looking for something smaller.
easy to put away which the titan isn't.
its heavy and bulky.
years ago an old work mate had a portable planer and it was no bigger that a small lap top.
cast aluminium body. I wouldn't mind something like that.

No worse than using a mandolin for veg prep....
I have one similar to that in the first pic, I got it from a pal along with the planer. Works OK but it's not something I've used a lot.

Things with rotating blades keep going. There is some info on how many mm of flesh and bone are removed per revolution of the blade etc, but i cant remember where it is now
Being serious for a second (yes i know im not all the time), that contraption need a shure guard. If it snatches on timber, a highly likely possibility folk do all sorts of things to recover the
job. My first ever accident investigation was looking at a machine where a bloke was just doing a "quick" job. Guard wasn't set in place, timber snatched and kicked back. He wnet to save the job and lost 3 fingers
Hi, Along the same lines as 'A dropped knife has no handle' you're fighting reflex action.
