having had a quick read at the link that was offer by seadog.

it says the motor has max torque and speed at 45deg of the adjusting plate thing

looking at my photos, my plate seems hardly turned at all ????? yes or No ?????

Do you turn the plate as a whole, or move one brush relative to the other?

Need a little help again plz

The carbon brushes are ment to be 20mm x 20mm x 5mm

one is a little narrower at 18mm, its causing it to lean to one side and not fit in its guide properly.

I cant seem to find any of that size

They have to be 5mm thick and 20mm wide, the lengh is give or take a little

does anyone know were to get them from???

Can you pack out the brush holder with a strip of copper sheet, maybe a piece of flattened water pipe.

That was exactly my next plan,

but there is no harm in trying to find new brushes now the grinder is all apart

buy a pair of slightly bigger brushes and rub them down to size on some sandpaper sometimes one side is the right size so u only need to rub up the other side

If you pack them out try and pack them both sides so the brushes wear 'square' makes it easier if you have to swap them around.

Repulsion motor, Ihave one on my tablesaw at 4 hp, it is huge in comparison to a modern induction motor, make sure all is clean inside and slip rings are clean pack brushes as suggested, all should be well
