Bench grinder adapter

I'm after an adapter to fit buffer wheels on my bench grinder,but not coming up with any results

Which aren't right
Its an old grinder i mean i've had it 20years and that was 2nd hand,but its a powerful beast.

Sorry that pic looks rubbish but its a HSK or a SHK 240v 1HP
Heres the hole i think the adapter fits into

I haven't a clue what the thread would be or it be left or right

But its that big......roughly
Can anyone throw me in the right direction on where/who might sell them?

Probably right hand thread on the RHS and left hand on the LHS so wheel tightens up on load. Why not make a male to male adaptor to fit your thread and the eBay part?

Ah, right. Sorry. My grinder has 1/2" UNC male threaded spindle ends. Reference to Zeus tables suggests your core diameter is not a million miles away from that so might be worth a try to get hold of a suitable bolt and see if it fits. Others here might know for sure what the thread is on your machine.

A 1/2” BSW bolt should screw in, to test, if it is 1/2" UNC, as, if I recall correctly, they're the same bar thread angle. May feel a bit tight, but should wind in by hand alone.

1/2" is one of the few sizes that differ in pitch between Whit and UNC . Whit is 12TPI, UNC is 13TPI.

Right after diving through the odds and sods bin i found this


Which to my surprise went in rather easy,but got to say maybe a little to easy

Now its gone into the hole about 25mm then stopped,then i ran the grinder

Now to me theres a very slight wobble there,but to be honest i've seen worse
I'll order an adapter and take it from there
